1. Download Ubuntu (. / copy Deep Learning Environment)

Generally speaking, there are two download addresses in China, one is Aliyun image and the other is NetEase source image. Here is the address of a NetEase source:

After entering the download, choose to download 64-bit or 32-bit. Among them, i386 represents 32 bits. According to your computer choice, it is generally 64-bit now, so download the first one directly.

2. VMware Workstation creates a Ubuntu virtual machine

There are no special instructions below to follow the default installation and click next!

The installation of VMware is relatively simple, but open it after installation, as shown in the following figure. Then we click to create a new virtual machine.

Choose the third one here and select the operating system later.

Any name and location.

If your computer's own memory is OK, it is recommended to set it to 2G, 2048m, and the default is 1G.

The disk size defaults to 20g, which is fine. I recommend setting 50G, because you will inevitably encounter larger data when doing machine learning, in case there is not enough later, trouble.

Arbitrary name

Select CD/DVD here and click to find the iso file of Ubuntu that you just downloaded.

After clicking OK, select turn on this virtual machine.

3. Xshell 5 installation

Then click

File-> New

Enter the ip address of the Ubuntu virtual machine at the host

The command to view the address of ubuntu's ip:

Ifconfig

The following 192.168.126.129 is the ip address.

Enter the user name in your Ubuntu here. Generally, there should be one user or multiple users in the Ubuntu.

The password here is your root password in Ubuntu.

At this point, the picture we started to show will appear, and the virtual machine will be controlled directly with Xshell.
