This article introduces how to uninstall IE8 and turn off iexplore in XP system. The content is very detailed. Interested friends can use it for reference. I hope it will be helpful to you.
1. Abnormal display of the web page
When using IE8 to open some websites in Windows xp, there will be abnormal page display, such as picture dislocation, text deviation and so on. This is mainly due to the fact that IE8 adopts the international web page development standard-W3C standard, and many previous websites are developed and optimized for the IE7 standard, so the websites that are not compatible with the newly developed standards will have display problems. So, what can we do to solve this problem?
When we open a website that shows a problem, we will find a compatibility view button on the left side of the address bar, which can be displayed in IE7 compatibility mode by clicking this button directly. When you press this button, it will show a sunken shape. If you don't like pressing this button frequently, you can click the "Page → compatibility View Settings" command to open the "compatibility View Settings" window and directly check the "Show all sites in compatibility View" option.
2. Pictures cannot be uploaded in the forum.
When using IE8 to log in to the forum to post in Windows XP, there was a failure that the picture attachment could not be uploaded, and the system prompted "invalid picture file". This may be caused by the incompatibility between IE8's security settings and some forums. Another possibility is that the image saved directly by IE8 does not have an extension, which will result in the image format not being recognized by the forum and cannot be uploaded. When saving web pictures, you should pay attention to manually specifying the saved extensions, such as JPG, GIF and so on.
First of all, each forum may have certain restrictions on the size, size and format of images, such as: less than 800 × 640 pixels, jpg and gif formats, and files not larger than 200KB. If the images still cannot be uploaded after meeting the above conditions, you should check the security settings of IE8. We can click the "tools → Internet options" command, in the open "Internet options" window to enter the "Security" tab, click the "Custom level" button, in the open "Security Settings" window will "other" under the "upload files to the server including the local directory path" set to "enable", make sure to restart IE8, this fault should be solved.
3. The forum cannot save Cookie.
Cookie, also known as cookie, can save some text user information that makes it easy to log in to the forum. However, IE8 under Windows XP fails to save Cookie. You need to log in again every time you open the forum, and you have to log in again after you refresh the page, which brings trouble to the user. This is mainly due to a problem with the default Cookie setting of IE8, which forbids Cookie.
We can click the "tools → Internet options" command, click the "Privacy" option in the "Internet options" window, then click the "Advanced" button on the Privacy tab of the "Internet options", check the "override automatic Cookie processing" check box in the pop-up "Advanced Privacy Policy Settings" window, and then set the "first party cookie" and "third party cookie" below to "accept". Finally, select "always allow session cookie", and then restart IE8 to solve this problem.
4. Process shutdown delay
Using IE8 in Windows XP to browse the web in a window but found multiple iexplore.exe processes in the task manager, and the process will not be automatically closed after closing the tab, which leads to the failure that the process stubbornly occupies system resources. This is not really a glitch, but a new feature of IE8. IE8 designed a process for backing up iexplore.exe, and browsing tabs crashed without causing other tabs to crash and exit, but to continue browsing normally.
For users who are short of system resources, you can automatically close the released process through registry settings. Click the "start" menu, open the "run" window, enter "REGEDIT", open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\ Main subkey in the open registry editor, right-click on the right side of the subkey to create a new IE8 value, and set the key value to 0, indicating that the process will be closed immediately after closing the DWD label and window.
5. Unable to open the link in the new tab
When browsing the web using IE8 in Windows XP, sometimes you want to use the right-click menu "Open in New Tab" to open the link only to find that the right-click menu does not have this command.
This failure may be caused by misoperation by the user, an important reason is that the user has disabled tab browsing mode, or it may be due to a disorder in the IE settings.
For the first case, we can click the "tools-Internet options" command, click the "Settings" button next to "Tab" in the "Internet options" window that opens, and then check the "start Tab browsing" option in the "Tab Browse Settings" window to make sure you can restart IE.
If this is the second case, to enter the "Internet options" window again, click the "Advanced" option, click the "reset" button, check the "Delete Personalization Settings" option in the pop-up "reset Internet Explorer Settings" window, and click the "reset" button to restore the settings. This problem can generally be solved.
6. Unable to uninstall IE8
Once you install IE8 in Windows XP, you will find that neither the start menu nor the add / remove programs in the control panel can find the uninstall option. Can't you uninstall IE8?
This is because the user does not have a clear way to uninstall IE8, we can go to the control panel, open the "add / remove programs" function, check the "Show updates" option above, then the IE8 will be displayed in an updated form, click the "remove" button to uninstall.
