1 sci-hub

Here is a little trick to access Web of Science database in external network (non-education network and science and technology network). Be careful not to try using IE and Edge browsers. I have failed to use both browsers. I recommend using Chrome browser.

First find an available sci-hub domain name, which can be found through the "find available domain names" function in the SciHub Desktop menu. For example, the domain name http://sci-hub.tw, and then use the left slash (/) to connect the sci-hub URL with the above Web of Science URL in the following form:

Http://sci-hub.tw/http://apps.webofknowledge.com

You can enter WOS successfully after you enter. Sometimes it's a little slow. Just wait a little longer. But you can see that the WOS page is embedded in the Sci-Hub page, and you can retrieve it in this page. If the speed is very slow, you can click the green refresh button in the upper right corner of the page to try a free account.

You can also delete the scihub domain name in front of the URL directly, and then enter the WOS directly instead of nesting in the sci-hub:

At this time, you can retrieve the literature normally. At present, the test can be used normally. There is no need to log in to the account. You can give it a try.

The following two methods are shared by the JCR journals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. I am not a staff member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, so I cannot verify the third method.

2. Use URL

Web of Science has made a very ingenious design for the convenience of users. The Url of a Web of Science website opened within the scope of authorization is deemed to be licensed anywhere else and can continue to use its services. Of course, Url has a time limit and expires after the early hours of the morning.

To put it simply, you can send you a Url that has opened Web of Science through your colleagues and classmates at work, and you can easily use Web of Science services at home.

3. Chinese Academy of Sciences user authentication

If you are a staff member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, there is a more convenient way to use it. The document and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences cooperates with Web of Science to provide mailbox-based user authentication, which can use Web of Science services anywhere and at any time after authentication.

If you open Web of Science and this page appears, please select an institutional user to log in first.

Select China (CSTCloud ID-CAS) from the drop-down list of the organization, click go, and the system will jump to the China Science and Technology Network pass Authentication page. Face Web of Science authorization on the authentication page, so you can easily break through Ip address restrictions and access Web of Science.

4. 80 Library

The website reads: this Web of Science free entry only contains 2008 papers collected so far, and you cannot use JCR and ESI. If you want to use complete functions such as JCR and ESI, you can buy the 35 yuan permanent package provided by 80 Library, including SCI papers from 1900 to the present.
