Edit the include/functions_common.php file under the source package;

Find lines that contain the return htmlentities field;

return htmlentities($myStr, ENT_NOQUOTES, $content['HeaderDefaultEncoding']);// "UTF-8");

Amend to read:

return htmlentities($myStr, ENT_NOQUOTES, $content['HeaderDefaultEncoding']), "UTF-8");

As follows:

Restart httpd or nginx; make sure the database character set is UTF8

Nginx php restart command:

kill-USR2 `cat /opt/soft/php/var/run/php-fpm.pid`

Then modify the Default character encoding parameter in Admin Center to UTF-8
