Is php completely eliminated?
I can say for sure that php has not been eliminated and will not be eliminated.
According to W3Techs, as of September 2021: "78.9% of websites use PHP."
If there is a demand and a market, it will never be eliminated.
Introduction to PHP:
PHP (full name: PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor, that is, "PHP: hypertext preprocessor") is an open source general computer scripting language, especially suitable for network development and can be embedded in HTML. The grammar of PHP absorbs the characteristics of popular computer languages such as C language, Java and Perl, and is easy for ordinary programmers to learn. The main goal of PHP is to allow web developers to quickly write dynamic pages, but PHP is also used in many other areas.
PHP was originally developed by Ledorf in 1995; the PHP standard is now maintained by the PHP Group. PHP uses PHP License as its license agreement, but because this agreement restricts the use of PHP names, it is not compatible with the open source license agreement GPL.
PHP has a wide range of applications, especially in the development of web programs. Generally speaking, PHP is mostly executed on web servers, and the web pages browsed by users are generated by executing PHP code. PHP can be executed on most servers and operating systems. According to statistics from April 2013, PHP has been installed on more than 244m websites and 2.1 million servers.
PHP has a dedicated official migration compilation project on Windows and provides different version support for multiple VC compiler versions and thread-safe features.
Here is an introduction to the development history of PHP:
PHP, originally abbreviated as Personal Home Page [8], is some CGI tool assemblies developed by Lasmus Ledorf in C language to replace the original Perl programs in order to maintain personal web pages. Initially, these tool programs were used to display Lasmus Ledorf's resume and to count web traffic [9]. He integrates these programs with some form interpreters, called PHP/FI. PHP/FI can connect to the database to produce a simple dynamic web program. Rasmus Ledorf publicly released PHP/FI on June 8, 1995, hoping to speed up program development and find errors through the community [10]. This release, named PHP 2, already has some prototypes of today's PHP, such as Perl-like variable naming, form handling, and the ability to embed execution in HTML. The program syntax is also similar to Perl, with more restrictions, but simpler and more flexible.
In 1997, two Israeli programmers, Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans, who worked for Technion IIT, rewrote PHP's parser to become the foundation of PHP 3, and PHP was renamed PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor. [9]. After several months of testing, the development team released PHP/FI 2 in November 1997, followed by open testing of PHP 3, and finally officially released PHP 3 in June 1998. Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans began to rewrite the core of PHP after the release of PHP 3, a parser called Zend Engine [11], which was released in 1999. They also set up Zend Technologies in Ramat Gan in Israel to manage PHP development.
On May 22, 2000, PHP 4 based on Zend Engine 1.0 was officially released, and on July 13, 2004, PHP 5 was released with the second generation of Zend Engine [9]. PHP 5 includes many new features, such as enhanced object-oriented functionality, the introduction of PDO (PHP Data Objects, an extension library for accessing databases), and many performance enhancements [12]. Currently, PHP 4 will not be updated to encourage users to move to PHP 5.
In 2008, PHP 5 became the only stable version of PHP under maintenance.
The first version of PHP 7 was developed on December 3, 2015 and includes a number of performance improvements as well as some new features, most notably return value type declarations and scalar type declarations (available for parameters and return values).
At this point, I believe that everyone has a deeper understanding of "php is not completely eliminated", might as well come to the actual operation! Here is the website, more related content can enter the relevant channels to inquire, follow us, continue to learn!
