I. IP classification

An IP address is a unique address that consists of 32-bit binary numbers and is represented by the dotted decimal method. The general distinction is as follows: 1 five types of IP 2 special purpose IP 3 private IP

IPV4 simply and roughly divides IP addresses into five categories. The classification method is shown in the following figure:

In other words, it can be divided into the following categories:

A: 0.0.0.0-127.255.255, in which segments 0 and 127 are not available. The available address range is 1.0.0.mur127.255.255.255.

B: 128.0.0.0-191.255.255.255, where the available address range is 128.0.0.0-191.255.255.255

C: 192.0.0.0-223.255.255.255 in which the available address range is 192.0.0.0-223.255.255.255

D: 224.0.0.0-239.255.255.255 where the available address range is 224.0.0.0-239.255.255.255, which is used as a broadcast address

E: 240.0.0.0-255.255.255.255, of which segment 255 is not available for reserved use

In addition to segments 0 and 127, there are some IP addresses that cannot be used as normal IP because of other uses. Some are used as private IP addresses.

2 IP for special purpose

These special IP addresses are divided into three categories: special source address, loopback address and broadcast address. As shown in the following table:

3 Private IP

Public address (Public address), which is the responsibility of Inter NIC (Internet Network Information Center Internet Information Center). These IP addresses are assigned to organizations that register and apply to Inter NIC. Access the Internet directly through it.

Private IP is created to solve the problem of insufficient public IP addresses. Take part of the A, B, C IP addresses as private IP addresses. These IP addresses cannot be routed to the Internet backbone network, and the Internet router will discard the private address. If a private IP address wants to connect to the Internet, you need to convert the private address to a public address. This translation process is called Network address Translation (Network Address Translation,NAT), and a router is usually used to perform NAT translation. The scope is as follows:
