These chips will eventually be available, but the company will take the opportunity to launch them as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 +. After a series of rumors and leaks, Qualcomm appears to be preparing to launch its new flagship chipset for mobile devices on May 20. The company has announced through Weibo that it will hold a new conference in China. In addition to the new chip, we finally need to know about Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Qualcomm has set a mid-year update schedule for its flagship SoC. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 + exceeded expectations, and the big news this time is that it comes from different chip suppliers. When it comes to Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, we can say that it is also expected. As early as last year, Qualcomm released Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which infamously rebranded its chipset series. We know that it is only a matter of time before this new naming scheme reaches the other lineup. Now, that's what happened with the release of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. This will be the first mid-range series of chips to get a new nomenclature. In the future, we will see Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 series, or even Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 series.

Many brands are preparing new competitors for Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 +, such as Motorola, Realme, Xiaomi, and even one plus. According to revelations, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 + has the same core configuration as its predecessor. However, the clock rate of the ARM Cortex-X2 kernel will be raised to 2.99 GHz. SoC will also bring ARM Cortex-A710 and A510 kernels. The GPU will be the same as the Adreno 730s, but we expect some adjustments. The first equipment equipped with it will be available after June.
