This is not the first time he has participated in a relative-seeking and abduction case. However, the experience of using artificial intelligence (AI) to find a relative is extraordinary.

When Li Xin's colleagues received pictures of their children from parents seeking relatives, everyone was silent. The photos were wrapped in thick oil paper for fear of being defaced. Jiang Xiaoling, director of the Criminal investigation Bureau of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Bureau, recalled that when collecting photos, many parents repeatedly told them not to lose them. "for parents, this is the only sustenance left to them by their children."

"Little Mouse" was one of 10 three-year-olds who were abducted in Sichuan from 2008 to 2010.

Through the DNA test, the police successfully identified four abducted children in the first batch, three of which were hit with the highest score.

They also burst into tears, and their affection and love continued many years later.

So far, seven of the 10 children who were abducted and sold in Sichuan that year have been recovered. Chen Shiqu said that the successful recovery of most of the abducted children fully proves that artificial intelligence can play an important role in finding abducted children for many years. In addition to DNA comparison, cross-age face recognition technology also provides an effective way for public security organs to find abducted children, which is "of landmark significance."

In Li Xin's view, there is no difference between good and bad technologies such as artificial intelligence, and the key lies in how to use them and how to make them more warm. "the Tech for Good Initiative should be the duty and responsibility of technology users."
