Method 1. Set parameters in sqlnet.ora

If you need to set the client to be idle for 10 minutes, add SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME = 10 at the end of the sqlnet.ora Note: the path to the sqlnet.ora file is under $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin. Method 2. Setting in Oracle Profile

Do the following on the production library:

SQL > col name format A15

SQL > col value format A10

Query whether resource limit is enabled:

SQL > SELECT name, value FROM gv$parameter WHERE name = 'resource_limit'

NAME VALUE

--

Resource_limit FALSE

If not, enable this parameter:

SQL > ALTER SYSTEM SET RESOURCE_LIMIT=TRUE

System altered.

SQL > SELECT name, value FROM gv$parameter WHERE name = 'resource_limit'

NAME VALUE

--

Resource_limit TRUE

Create a Profile that is idle for 10 minutes to abort idle routines:

SQL > CREATE PROFILE app_user LIMIT IDLE_TIME 10

Profile created.

Set the user's Profile:

SQL > alter user mzh profile app_user

You can also modify the IDLE_TIME in an existing Profile:

SQL > ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT IDLE_TIME 10

Access the database through the local connection string (by listening):

C:\ Windows\ SysWOW64 > sqlplus "mzh/mzh" @ LOCAL_11G_localhost
