1. Download PuTTY, download PuTTYgen, and open PuTTYgen.

3. Randomly move the mouse to the blank area below the progress bar to create some randomness in the generated key.

4. Click the "Save Private key" button without providing any password. Click Yes on the window to confirm that the key is saved without a password.

5. Save the key file with the appropriate name, such as ssh_private_key.ppk. Use the Import key option to upload the public key from cPanel to the managed server.

For Windows access to a remote server

1. Open Putty and enter the remote hostname or IP address.

2. In the left menu, click data under connection, and then enter the cPanel user name in the Auto Login user name field.

3. In the left menu, click Auth under Connection- > SSH, and then enter the path to the saved private key file.

Click the Open button to connect to the server.
