The difference between recover and restore in Oracle rman: restore just copy the physical file, recover will consistent the database.restore is restore, file-level recovery. Is the physical file restore. Recover is recovery, data-level recovery. Logical recovery, such as applying archived logs and redoing logs, are all synchronized and consistent. In my own vernacular, first copy the backup files to the database directory for replacement with restore, and then after some processing with recover, the database will return to normal.

1. Restore command: used to restore data files that have been backed up.

(1) restore database restores all data files.

(2) restore tablespace restores the data files in a specific table space.

(3) restore datafile restores specific data files.

(4) restore controlfile restore control files.

(5) restore archivelog restores archived log files.

2. Recover command: when the database needs to apply archive log files to recover data files, use the recover command. Using this command, the database system automatically applies the archived log files.

(1) recover database recovers all data files.

(2) recover tablespace recovers the data files in a specific table space.

(3) recover datafile recovers specific data files.
