The new 16-inch MacBook Pro has finally corrected Apple's keyboard glitch and is a beast machine in terms of performance. But early buyers managed to find some bugs with the latest MacBook Pro and a hardware feature that might disappoint some people.

As AppleInsider points out (and supported by long forum topics like MacRumors), the owner of the 16-inch MacBook Pro complains about the intermittent "crackling" of the speakers. This is obvious after the audio playback stops. From AppleInsider:

If you have a problem, what happens is that when you play any audio or video, if you stop playing, jump to another section, or close the window, you will hear the sound. This is similar to the clip obtained when the audio peak is too high or when the speakers are suddenly turned off and on.

Using a $2400 laptop is sure to affect you. Apple's support team has responded to some people telling them that the company is aware of the problem and is taking remedial action.

Other customers are unhappy with the slow response time of the 16-inch MacBook Pro color display, which may lead to "ghosting" when scrolling text. On MacRumors, this has won many pages of discussion, although some people are not satisfied with the scrolling performance of the display, or do not seem to notice when using laptops regularly. In addition, if you hang the machine on an external monitor in most cases, it may not be important to you.

However, those who upgraded from a 15-inch MacBook Pro in 2014 or 2015 (in other words, those who avoided using butterfly keyboards) claimed that their previous monitors did not have this problem (at least to some extent). In this case, some people may even return the device. There are rumors that Apple will release the Mini-LED MacBook Pro and iPad Pro in 2020, so the 16-inch MacBook Pro panel may be the last similar product in Apple's laptop, at least in the professional product line.

As a 13-inch MacBook Pro user over the past few years, I've noticed that sometimes some text and icons are tailed, but they've never really been seen as a problem. In the world of 90Hz phones, 120Hz iPad and even more fluid game displays, is this just a situation where Macbook 60hz refresh rates are hard to reflect?

However, the eccentricities of the speaker are indeed more prominent. Keep in mind that Apple's holiday return policy is now in effect, so you must continue to use MacBook Pro until early January to see if Apple has resolved the abnormal noise problem with macOS software versions or firmware updates.
