Manually switch interfaces Use Skype for Business interface commands:

Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $true

Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $false

Create a client policy:

New-CsClientPolicy -Identity SFBUI -EnableSkypeUI $true

Change the department to "Technology" and use Skype for Business UI:

Get-CsUser -LDAPFilter "Department= Technical Department"| Grant-CsClientPolicy -PolicyName SFBUI
