The author has not worked as a product manager, but as a SAP consulting business consultant, I also need to deal with development programmers (ABAP development consultants) in project practice. As soon as this happened, the author took a deep breath. In the past ten years of SAP project practice, the author worked on a project with many development colleagues, but he was able to finish each project smoothly without being beaten angrily by his development colleagues. Fully communicate with the customer's business department before communicating the requirements with the development programmer. In fact, SAP business consultants (function consultant) are also in a weak position in the face of increasingly difficult customers. In project practice, especially in the projects of private enterprises, customers are not very willing to use the standard functions provided by SAP, and often put forward various requirements to SAP business consultants because of special business processes or special business logic. SAP business consultants are of course the first choice to persuade customers to use SAP standard features to tell them the benefits and advantages of standard features. In fact, because the customer is too strong to convince the customer, the business consultant needs to communicate with the customer repeatedly and fully on the customer's needs, first of all to ensure that they really understand the customer's needs. For example, if the customer proposes to develop a report or a certain business function, the business consultant can initially draw the relevant report or function interface based on the communication results with the customer and show it to the customer. confirm with the customer the value logic of the fields that appear in the relevant interface, as well as the specific functional details of the relevant buttons, and fine-tune according to the customer's feedback. This can better understand customer needs, the preliminary design interface can also help customers straighten out their own ideas, can be more clear about their needs. If the business consultant is a developer, so much the better, he can guide customers in the direction they want based on his understanding of SAP development technology.

Fully respect each other in the process of communicating requirements with development programmers. After the SAP business consultant has figured out the real needs of the customer, he needs to communicate with the development programmer colleagues and explain the requirements details carefully and patiently to ensure that the development programmers can fully and accurately understand the requirements. In the process of communication, we need to speak in a more friendly way and attitude, fully reflect the respect for the developer programmer colleagues. Business consultants and development colleagues are actually grasshoppers on the same rope, standing in the same boat, and need to work together to deal with the pressure and challenges from customers. If the development task is heavy and requires overtime development, the business consultant should also take the initiative to stay and work with development colleagues to give advice on the developer's questions at any time. In the internal testing phase, business consultants design various business scenarios to arrange test data for testing, and try their best to find more BUG so that developers can improve the program. Avoid complaints caused by many low-level errors found by customers when the program is delivered to customer business personnel for testing due to insufficient internal testing. Complaints from customers, especially those with extremely unfriendly attitudes, can cause frustration and frustration among development programmers, and even unnecessary backlash.

For requirements change, persuade the customer to give up as much as possible, and if you can't convince the customer, you have to convince the development programmer. In project practice, customers have different understandings and requirements for their own requirements at different times, so it is inevitable to bring about changes in requirements. Business consultants need to block requirements changes as much as possible. It is really unstoppable, but also need to be patient with developer colleagues to communicate amicably, listen to each other's opinions, understand the increased workload, and communicate with customer business staff about the increased workload, so as to buy more time for development colleagues. This can reduce the pressure on developers and gain the understanding of development colleagues. If the business consultant can not withstand the pressure of the customer and is not good at guiding and persuading the customer to be led by the nose, resulting in repeated changes in requirements and program modification, can you imagine what the development programmer will think? In case of a bad-tempered developer colleague, the business consultant may be scolded or even beaten.
