Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--
GNS3
GNS3 is a graphical network virtualization software that can run on multiple platforms (including Windows, Linux, and MacOS). Cisco network equipment administrators or those interested in passing Cisco certification exams such as CCNA,CCNP,CCIE, etc. can use it to complete relevant lab simulations. It can also be used to virtually experience the Cisco Internet Operating System IOS or to verify relevant configurations to be deployed on real routers.
objective
Based on my previous article, GNS3 is installed. This time, we will conduct an experiment to simulate the data interworking between two machines based on switches, and capture the interworking data through "Wireshark".
First of all, a brief introduction to the interface of GNS3, the first behavior menu bar, the second behavior toolbar, as shown in the figure
A vertical column is the graph bar, and the specific labels are as shown in the figure.
1. Add and configure route mirroring
Then according to the above figure, because GNS3 is installed for the first time without routing equipment, we should add and configure the first route as the first step.
1-1 Click "Edit" to enter the Settings drop-down menu, select the gear pattern "Preference"
1-2 Go to Settings, select IOS routers, click NEW to add mirror
1-3 Click "Brove" to select the path where the image is located, open it after selection, click Yes in the pop-up interface to convert the bin image file into an image file
1-4 After adding, drag the route to the middle workspace through the icon bar on the left, and click Open All. (Note: this run may cause the cpu to run up to 100 because it has not been optimized for computers.)
1-5 In the case of keeping the route open, right click the R1 router and select "Idle-PC" for optimization. To complete the optimization, select the number with "" as the best. If there is no "", the smaller the number, the better.
1-6 Change the controller included in GNS3 to CRT remote control (all paths shall not have Chinese), click "Edit" to enter the setting drop-down menu, and select the gear pattern "Preference." Click General, select console applications, and change to CRT in the section shown in the figure.
This completes the configuration of the first route after installation. At this time, the route added is only a route and does not have switching function, so the next step is to modify the route so that it has switching function and can be used as a switch.
2. Add a second working board for the route and initially implement the interworking between VPCs 2-1. Right-click R1 and click Configure. In the Slots interface, add a switch 1:16 working board to slots2, as shown in the figure.
2-2 When finished, right-click R1 and select "Change Symbol" to change the icon to the icon at the end of switch
2-3 Finally, double-click R1, open CRT controller, enter configure terminal to enter global mode, and then enter "no ip routing" to turn off routing function, so that a switch is initially set up.
2-4 After setting up the switch, drag the two VPC VMs into the workspace through the icon bar on the left, and then select the network cable to connect to the switch respectively (note that the interface must be connected to f1/only f1/belongs to the second block, that is, the switch working board). After connecting, click the display interface to check whether there is any error.
2-5 Click Start All, double-click PC1 and PC2 respectively, and enter "ip+ip address + subnet mask" respectively in the user mode of both computers (default interface).
2-6 Right-click on the network cable and select Wireshark package capture software, return to pc1 console, enter "ping+ pc2 ip address" to get feedback, return to package capture software, and enter "icmp" in the search bar (Ping tool is based on this protocol) to get corresponding feedback.
This completes the setup of the switch and the interworking between the VPCs, leaving the interworking between the two HOSTs virtual machines
Third, to achieve interoperability between HOSTs 3-1 Open VM14, and start the two virtual Win10 hosts set up before (in the VM environment to install Win10 host see my first blog post)
Check that both virtual machine firewalls are down
3-2 Click VM14--Edit--Virtual Network Editor. In the editor, select Change Configuration to add a second host-only virtual network card for its own host (the figure shows that it has been added). Select Add Network to add a network card. Note that the place marked "2" must be removed.
3-3 Right-click Win10-1 and select Settings to bind the network adapter to VMnet1, Win10-2 to VMnet2 in the same way. Then, specify the ip of Win10-1 and Win10-2 respectively.
3-4 Go back to GNS3, right-click the previous VPC1\2, select "delete" to delete, and drag out two HOSTs again, which are connected to the switch through the network cable. The connection method is the same as VPCs.
3-5 First, right click on the network cable connected to HOST2 on the right to bring up the package capture software, then return to the right click start menu in Win10-1 virtual machine, select Run and enter cmd to bring up the command prompt, enter ping+ IP address of Win10-2
This is how to setup GNS3 for the first time and how to interconnect data between VPCs and between HOSTs.
