Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--

After the release of Apple's iPhone in September, two things are always certain about the next version of iPhone. Next year's models will have faster processors and an upgraded camera experience. You don't have to reveal anything about it, it's just the way Apple and the industry as a whole develop. The IPhone 11 is equipped with an unparalleled processor, and the camera system is one of the best mobile cameras available. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 is expected to be equipped with a faster A14 CPU and some camera improvements. However, as we get closer to the release of the next generation of iPhone, we begin to see more and more reports about it. Now we have the first detail about the iPhone 12 camera.

According to Digitimes (via 9to5Mac), the 5G iPhone released by Apple in 2020 will have sensor displacement stabilization technology. Digitimes reports that Apple rumors have been around for a long time, but its predictions don't always come true.

However, sensor displacement image stabilization is an interesting tidbit. Optical image stabilization (OIS) is an essential feature of all high-end smartphones, and iPhone 11 is no exception. Two of the three cameras Apple uses on these devices (including telephoto and wide-angle lens cameras) have an OIS, while ultra-wide-angle cameras don't.

If OIS moves the lens element to compensate for the movement of the hand, the sensor displacement technology will move the sensor in the camera module. This is another way to achieve the same goal, that is, to improve image quality and eliminate camera jitter in photos and videos.

In practice, it is not clear whether the sensor shift image stabilization technology is better than OIS, but if this report is accurate, iPhone 12 will be equipped with sensor shift image stabilization.

In addition to improving the image stability of the next-generation iPhone, there are rumors that Apple will add time-of-flight (ToF) sensors to some iPhone 12 models next year. Apple celebrity Guo Ming recently said that Apple could launch as many as five new iPhone models next year, including four devices that make up the iPhone 12 series. These devices are expected to be equipped with dual-lens and three-lens cameras, excluding ToF sensors.
