The command to set Autotrace.

Set different parameters of set autotrace before executing sql to get different effects you want to observe.

Usage: SET AUTOT [RACE] {OFF | ON | TRACE [ONLY]} [explain] [stats]]

-- turn off the tracking execution plan and statistics function (off by default).

SQL > set autotrace off

-- the execution plan and statistics show

SQL > set autotrace on

-only the execution plan and statistics are displayed, not the sql execution results.

SQL > set autotrace traceonly

-- displays only the execution plan

SQL > set autotrace on explain

-- display only statistics

SQL > set autotrace on statistics

Oracle has two session enabled when using the autotrace feature.

One is used to execute SQL. The other is used to record the execution plan and output results.
