Bridged (bridging mode)

Host-only (host mode only)

VMware virtualizes a virtual switch between virtual machines through software, each virtual machine communicates through virtual switch, and host Host communicates with each virtual machine through the virtual network card "VMware Network Adapter VMnet1" of the software. But at this time, each virtual machine cannot access the Internet, because in this mode, the virtual system is separated from the real network.

NAT (Network address Translation Mode)

Using NAT mode, the virtual machine accesses the Internet through the network where the host machine is located through the NAT (Network address Translation) function inside the VMware. At this time, each virtual machine communicates with the host through the virtual network card "VMware Network Adapter VMnet8" of the software, and the host acts as the gateway of the VMnet8 to forward data between the virtual network VMnet8 and the real local area network.
