Starting with Windows 8, computers with wireless network cards usually pop up an interface that requires you to choose WIFI to connect to the wireless network during the installation of the system. The system installation cannot continue until the WIFI is connected or you choose to skip this feature. This is a very useful feature, but it is troublesome for IT administrators who want to fully automate the deployment of operating systems above Windows 8 through SCCM. To cancel this feature, you need to generate a custom XML combined with a sequence of SCCM tasks.

Step 1: install the latest version of Windows ADK

Download Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2013 Update 2 for installation. This toolkit includes Windows ADK for Windows 10 and supports Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. After the installation is complete, we need to apply the Windows system Image Manager in ADK.

Step 2: select the image you want to use and generate the XML reply file

Log in to the computer as a local administrator and open the Windows system Image Manager, click "File" and select "Select Windows system Image"

Navigate to the XX.WIM file you need to deploy. If you are using the tool for the first time, an alarm dialog box pops up that the directory file cannot be found, and click "Yes". Next, the mirror manager will start to generate catalog files, which will take a long time.

After the directory file is successfully generated, all items of the image file will be listed in the Image Manager

Click the [File] button again, select [New answer File], and the 7 steps of the system component will be displayed in the answer file box.

Step 3: define the answer file we need

Select the amd64_Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup_6.2.9200.16384_neutral component in the Components extension list in the left window

Expand amd64_Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup_6.2.9200.16384_neutral and select OOBE

Right-click OOBE, select add Settings to send 7oobeSystem, and click set [HideWirelessSetupInOOBE] to True to skip the Wireless connection.

Step 4: save the new answer file

With the above settings, we have generated a new answer file. Click "File" and select [Save answer File as], and save the answer file in the form of HideWirelessSetupInOOBE.xml to the Configuration Manager server\ sources\ os\ unattend xml folder.

Step 5: create a deployment package in the SCCM system

Create a deployment package with HideWirelessSetupInOOBE.xml files in the SCCM system

Select the path of the shared folder where you store your HideWirelessSetupInOOBE.xml files in [Source Files included in the package]

Click [Next] and select [Do not create a program]

Follow the wizard file to continue until the package creation is complete.

Step 6: distribute the package

Right-click the package you just created, select the distribution, and distribute the package to all distribution points.

Step 7: edit the sequence of tasks deployed by the operating system

Select the task sequence for deploying the Windows 8 system, and right-click to select "Edit".

Click [Apply Operating Image], and check [Use an unattended or sysprep answer file for a custom installation] to select the package that you just created containing HideWirelessSetupInOOBE.xml.

Click [Apply] Application Settings, and when you deploy the operating system again, there will no longer be an interface that reminds you to make a WIFI connection, thus realizing the fully automated deployment of the operating system.
