The next step will require you to enter the root password, which will be the password to log in to the ESXI host in the future. The user name is root. Note that passwords are case sensitive!

After setting the password, the program scans the system.

Note: if the ESXI system is already installed in the system, there will be three options, one is to overwrite the original system. One is to retain the system content upgrade. One is to overwrite the original content upgrade.

As shown in the following figure, the system is empty, press F11 to install the system.

After you select the installation, a progress bar is loaded to show the progress of the installation.

When the installation is complete, the interface will be displayed as follows. Press enter to restart.

Note: the flash drive should be unplugged in this interface (the CD will be automatically ejected). Otherwise, re-entering the system will still enter the installation interface.

Press enter and the interface is as follows. The system will restart.

After reboot, by default, the system will try to load the system from the network card first, which is normal.

The following screen appears on the screen, which indicates that the system is loading normally. It shows the model and memory size of the server.

Note: if something goes wrong here, a purple screen will be displayed. It is usually because BIOS does not turn on virtualization.

The following screen indicates that the system has been loaded. The following will write out the configuration after entering the system for the first time.

Press F2 and enter the root password to enter the configuration interface.

As shown in the following figure, select manage Network Settings.

First, enter the network adapter option.

You can see the network port of the server here. You can see the network port, select the network port you want to enable, and press the space to mark the left side with an X mark, indicating that the network port is enabled. Press enter to confirm the settings.

Select the IP setting to set the IP. (IP fill in according to the actual situation)

When the setup is complete, press Y to restart the network service.

Next you can test the connectivity of the network.

As shown in the following figure, the network test is normal.

After exiting the setup, the basic configuration of the ESXI server is complete. Next, access the server according to the IP address displayed on the screen.

Note:

There are two ways to access the ESXI server. One is through the vsphere client software installed on the computer to access. Or log in to the Web side by accessing the IP address of the server through the web server.

It is also important to note that the ESXI of each system has a client side corresponding to its version, for example, 5.5 servers can only log in with 5.5 clients.

However, more than 6.5 systems no longer have client software and must be accessed through web login.

Flash plug-in is required to log on to the web page.
