Because Microsoft.Rtc.Chat.Endpoint.Exceptions.InvalidStateException: No configuration was found for this server. The server cannot run without a valid configuration.

In Microsoft.Rtc.Internal.Chat.Server.ServerCommon.TransportServerBase.Initialize ()

In Microsoft.Rtc.Internal.Chat.Server.ServerCommon.MgcServiceBase.startServer ()

The following exception occurred at Microsoft.Rtc.Internal.Chat.Server.ServerCommon.MgcServiceBase.createAndStartServer () and Microsoft Lync Server 2013 persistent chat failed to start

It can be seen from the log of the appeal that the front-end server is mainly incompatible.

First check the port of the persistent chat server, which is 5041 by default. You need to check the status of all the servers in the pool and the status of the member servers in the topology in the control panel. If the front-end server patch has been updated, it will cause this database incompatibility situation, you need to update the persistent chat server patch.

Solution:

Update the database

Install-CsDatabase-ConfiguredDatabases-SqlServerFqdn sql.contoso.com-Verbose

Update central storage

Install-CsDatabase-CentralManagementDatabase-SqlServerFqdn sql.contoso.com-Verbose

Update Topology

Enable-CsTopology

Re-system the persistent chat service, and the service started successfully.
