Installing a new load center, often called an electrical panel, is not a hands-on task. You need a qualified electrician to install it to protect your home and anyone who enters it. The load center is a metal electric service box that is connected to the local public power supply and distributes the current to the entire family through a single circuit.

The new Leviton load center connects to the Internet and the Leviton cloud through Wi-Fi and your home router. Leviton's new intelligent circuit breaker is installed in the load center, just like it is installed on an ordinary electrical panel. Each intelligent circuit breaker is also connected to the Internet through a wireless or Ethernet-connected data hub.

With a Wi-Fi-connected levitton load center and a fully equipped smart circuit breaker, you can use the My Leviton smartphone app to monitor power consumption and view usage trends and electricity bills. You can also configure alerts for each circuit breaker, and you will be notified if, when, and why a single circuit breaker tripped.

Each circuit in the load center can be customized using one of four different circuit breaker options. Users can choose standard circuit breakers, AFCI circuit breakers, GFCI circuit breakers or AFCI/GFCI dual-function circuit breakers. For example, a GFCI (ground fault circuit breaker) circuit breaker cuts off power within 40 seconds, and if a fault occurs, it will be electrically grounded. Ungrounded circuits can damage electrical appliances, cause fires, and even hurt or even kill people.
