Import SSH key pair

You can use other tools to generate RSA key pairs and import the public key into Aliyun. For more information on the encryption method supported by the imported key, please see SSH key pair.

Description

Please save the private key part of the key pair properly and do not import the private key to Aliyun.

You should already have generated key pairs for other tools before the import operation. The public key imported into Aliyun must be encoded with Base64.

Follow these steps to import the key pair.

Log in to the ECS Management console.

"on the key pair management page, click create key pair."

Select the region.

On the create key pair page, set the key pair name, select Import the existing key pair, and enter the public key information in the public key content.

Description

The specified name should not repeat the name of the existing key pair, nor the name of the key pair that was bound to the instance before deletion, otherwise, the console will report an error that "the key pair already exists".

Click OK to start importing the key pair.

After the key pair is imported successfully, you can see the information of the imported key pair in the key pair list, including the key pair name, key pair fingerprint, etc.
