Linux
Linux, whose full name is GNU/Linux, is a set of Unix-like operating system that is free to use and spread freely. It is a multi-user, multi-task, multi-thread and multi-CPU operating system based on POSIX and Unix. With the development of the Internet, Linux has received support from software enthusiasts, organizations and companies all over the world. In addition to maintaining a strong momentum of development in servers, it has made great progress in personal computers and embedded systems. Users can not only intuitively obtain the implementation mechanism of the operating system, but also modify and improve Linux according to their own needs to maximize meet the needs of users.
The method of partitioning hard disk
Under the linux system, if you want to use a new hard disk, you need to go through partitioning, formatting, mounting and other operations before you can use the hard disk. If you want to learn how to partition well, you need to master several relevant commands. Next, let's have a look together.
View hard disk usage
Before partitioning, you must need to know the device name of the new disk and how much space is left on the hard disk. Under linux, there is a good command lsblk that lists all the hard drives and partitions of the current system.
# lsblkNAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINTvda 253:0 0 40G 0 disk └─ vda1 253:1 0 40G 0 part / vdb 253:16 0 200G 0 disk ├─ vdb1 253:17 0 50G 0 part / data └─ vdb2 253:18 0 100G 0 part / www
As you can see, there are currently two hard drives on the server, named vda and vdb. Vda has 40 gigabytes of space, but it has been allocated to partition /. On the other hand, vdb still has 50 gigabytes of unused space. So, let's divide the remaining 50 gigabytes into another zone.
Zoning
Here, we use fdisk for partitioning. This command can also view disk usage.
# fdisk / dev/vdb-lDisk / dev/vdb: 200GiB, 214748364800 bytes, 419430400 sectors...
Next, let's start the partition operation.
Fdisk / dev/vdbWelcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.32.1). Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.Be careful before using the write command.Command (m for help):
