This article will explain in detail how to use minicom, a serial port debugging tool in linux, and the content of the article is of high quality, so the editor will share it with you for reference. I hope you will have some understanding of the relevant knowledge after reading this article.

Today, I took out the development board that I bought for more than a year. I want to try whether I can connect to the notebook computer and check the multi-party data. I found that I need to use USB to transfer to serial port first, and then use serial port crossing line to connect serial port. Although it is a physical link, but I do not know whether it can really be used, so look at the information on the Internet, see what serial port tools are available under ubuntu, and find that the most commonly used is minicom, so next look at how to use, relatively simple.

Installation of A.minicom

Under ubuntu system: sudo apt-get install minicom

b. Connect serial port devices or USB to serial port devices (notebooks are often used without serial ports)

By plugging and unplugging the equipment, compare the difference before and after plugging in, and confirm the equipment. If you connect directly to the serial port, you can see the change of ll / dev/tty*. If you are using USB to serial port, please check ll / dev/ttyUSB?

Settings for C.minicom

Input: minicom-s pop up minicom settings, select serial port press Enter to enter, press A to change the equipment to the equipment confirmed in step B, such as ttyS0 or ttyUSB1, press Enter; and F to change Yes to No, press Enter, go back to the menu above, and save the changed settings as .dfl file. OK, then select EXIT, and then you can see the print information of the board when it is running. If you want to exit minicom, press Ctrl+An at the same time, then press Q.

Note: if minicom is closed abnormally, several files will be created under / var/lock. LCK*, these files prevent minicom from running and can be restored after deletion (unverified)

It seems that there is also a ckermit serial port tool under ubuntu, which seems to be easier to use than minicom. Try again next time!

About linux in the serial port debugging tool minicom how to share here, I hope that the above content can be of some help to you, can learn more knowledge. If you think the article is good, you can share it for more people to see.
