Installation of BIND Server:

1. Put the second CD of Redhat Linux 7.3 into the CD drive of the Linux host;

2. Log in to Linux as root and execute the following command:

# mount /mnt/cdrom

# cd /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS

# rpm -ivh bind-9.2.0-8.i386.rpm

# rpm -ivh caching-nameserver-7.2-1.noarch.rpm

# rpm -ivh bind-utils-9.2.0-8.i386.rpm

# cd

# umount /mnt/cdrom

Start and Stop of BIND Server:

1. Startup script for BIND server:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/named

2. Command to start BIND server:

service named start

3. Command to stop BIND server:

service named stop

4. Command to restart BIND server:

service named restart

5. Command to query BIND server status:

service named status
