Continued user profile Management under Windows (1)

III. Mandatory user profile

The forced user profile is also in the roaming user profile, but it is read-only and cannot be modified by the user.

In general, the contents of this settings file are set in advance by the system administrator.

Creation process:

In the actual production environment, system management will generally establish a temporary user login, modify its working environment according to the actual needs, log out of the user, and use the user's profile as a template. copy to the user who needs to set up a mandatory user profile to use.

To simplify the operation, copy it directly with the managed configuration file.

In pre-Windows 2008 operating systems, the "copy to" button in the following figure can be used directly. However, this button cannot be used directly in Windows 2008. Users can download a program called Windows Enabler from the network to activate this button.

Using active Directory users and computers, you first set up a test user TestUser

Select the profile and select copy to.

In "copy configuration file to": enter the path where you want to store the mandatory configuration file, (note that ".V2" must be attached, this folder does not need to be established in advance)

Under allow use, select change, and select the user who uses this profile.

View folder results.

Change the hidden file ntuser.dat under the directory to ntuser.man.

Under active Directory users and computers, modify the user's profile path, as shown in the following figure.

On any computer, log in as TestUser to view the results.

In the following figure, the user's profile type is mandatory.

Users can make some changes, then log out, log in again, and see the effect.

Fourth, customize the Default configuration file

Administrators can customize this file so that all local users or all domain users log in for the first time to have a unified work environment

Method: copy the configuration file of a custom user to the% SystemDrive%\ Users\ Default configuration folder, and note that the user is allowed to be Everyone.

5. Default configuration file for custom domain

If there is a Default User.V2 folder under the domain controller shared folder NetLogon, this domain profile is used when the domain user logs in for the first time.

The Netlogon share is mapped to the% SystemRoot%\ SysVol\ sysvol\ domain\ Scripts folder on DC

Administrators can establish a unified default configuration file for the domain by copying, and note that the allowed user should be Everyone.

VI. User's home folder

Users can point their home folder to a folder shared by the server, so that users can use these private files if they cannot log in from any computer.

Establishment method:

1. First set up a shared folder on the server (such as "home folder") and give Everyone read / write permissions

2. Then set up a private folder (the user's own home folder) for each user in this shared folder. For example, establishing a folder TestUser for TestUser only gives the user full control rights.

3. On DC, through the active directory user and computer, open the user's properties dialog box, set its home folder to the server's shared folder,\\ DCSRv01\ home folder\ TestUser, and map to Z disk

Note in the figure above that if you customize the local path, you need to specify that the UNC network path cannot be used on the disk of the local computer.

4. Test results. Log in to the domain as TestUser, and the result is shown in the figure below.

7. Login script

It is the program that will run automatically when the user logs in. It can be BAT, CMD, EXE, VBS, JS files.

Method of operation:

1. Create a script file Logon.VBS

Content of the document: Wscript.Echo "Welcome to Yingcheng Urban and Rural Housing Insurance Bureau!"

2. Copy the script file to the Netlogon shared file

Note: if you are a domain user, you need to copy this file to the shared folder Netlogon on DC

If you want to use it for local users, you need to set up a Netlogon folder on your local computer before copying

3. Specify the user registration script

In the user Properties option, enter the file name of the login script: Logon.VBS

Note that when entering a file name, you can take a relative path, that is, you can create a subfolder under the shared folder to hold the script files. Such as TestUser\ logon.Vbs. This allows you to specify different script files for different users.
