Mikrotik RouterOS sets LAN and DHCP

After buying the router, the first thing we need to do is to configure the intranet. How to configure it?

OK, let's start to configure routing by plugging the network cable into the second port of the router. Then the other end of the network cable is plugged into the computer.

Then download a winbox: https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/winbox/3.19/winbox.exe

1. Connect

Open winbox and click Neighbour to see a window like this:

At this point, we click on the MAC address, then enter the user name admin, the password remains blank, and then click Connect to connect to the ROS.

two。 Configure LAN

By default, the manufacturer will configure me with a network segment routed to ROS from 192.168.88.0 Universe 24, but if we do not want this network segment, we can handle it in the following way, and then we will reconfigure a network segment:

a. Click OK first

b. Modify the Bridge interface IP to 192.168.11.1 Universe 24 (you can customize it yourself)

At this point, you can see that the network segment has become 192.168.11.0

3. Configure DHCP

a. Click IP > DHCP Server to delete these two:

b. Then we go back to DHCP and click DHCP Setup.

Select Interfac

Confirm the network segment

Confirm Gateway

Confirm the DHCP address pool

Fill in here in DNS. Click the triangular arrow to add one line.

Confirm DHCP lease time

At this point, our configuration of the lan port and DHCP is complete.

At this point, if your computer is set to get IP automatically, you will get a 192.168.11.254 IP. (the IP on ROS starts at the back of the address pool.)
