5. Use software to connect to the Windows instance. On the Windows Server CVM desktop, click the server manager icon.

6. In the left navigation pane of Server Manager, select Storage > disk Management. In the disk management area, you can see the relationship between the new data disk space and the old data disk space.

7. Right-click the new disk, select convert to dynamic disk, and follow the page prompt to convert the basic disk to dynamic disk. "right-click any space in the simple volume of the new disk, and select expand Volume."

8. Follow the instructions of the expand Volume Wizard to complete the expand volume operation. After completion, the newly added data disk space will be automatically merged into the original volume. At this point, you have completed the expansion of the data disk of Ali CVM.

Compared with the operation of Ali CVM, the expansion of CVM is very simple. A CVM can be mounted to a separate cloud disk.

Cloud disk is similar to a mobile hard disk and can be mounted to any server in the same cluster. A single cloud disk supports a maximum of 4TB, and a CVM can mount up to 10 cloud disks, accumulating 40TB to meet users' storage needs of big data. You can freely choose the size of the cloud disk and the minimum incremental 1GB. You can expand on demand at any time, and flexibly respond to various data expansion needs.
