Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--

Some time ago, some users reported that the chat history of Skype for business could not be displayed in the outlook of individual users of their company. I have received a lot of feedback. Now I would like to share with you the process of dealing with this problem:

Problem description

In a Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, individual users who use the Skype for Business client cannot see the latest conversation records in the conversation History in the Outlook mailbox.

Troubleshooting steps

Since only individual users have this problem, first check the Skype for Business client settings, click "options"-> "personal" on the client, and see if "Save instant message conversations to the conversation History folder in email" is checked.

Check the corresponding account in the Exchange OWA page to see if there is the latest conversation history in OWA. If there is no latest conversation history in OWA, the user conversation history has not been uploaded to the Exchange server.

Check the configuration information of the corresponding account Skype for Business client to see if the EWS status is normal, which means that the connection between the Skype for Business client and the Exchange server is normal.

When the Skype for Business user conversation ends and the conversation window is closed, the conversation history file is generated in the "History Spooler" folder under the Lync user file directory, and then the file is automatically uploaded to the Exchange server. When the file is uploaded to the Exchange server, the cached file in the History Spooler folder disappears.

If there are a large number of up-to-date conversation history cache files in the corresponding user's "History Spooler" folder, the problem may be related to this folder. Try regenerating the "History Spooler" cache folder to resolve the problem, as follows:

Exit the logged-in Skype for Business client, open the corresponding Lync account user folder directory, and rename the "History Spooler" folder in this directory to "History Spooler.old".

Log in to the Skype for Business client again, establish a new session with other contacts, enter the test content, and then close the session window.

After closing the session window, a "History Spooler" folder is automatically generated under this Lync user folder directory, in which a conversation history file is generated and uploaded to the Exchange server, where the user can successfully view the latest conversation history in Outlook.

Copy the cache files previously stored in the "History Spooler.old" folder to the "History Spooler" folder, and upload the cache files of historical conversations that have not been uploaded to the Exchange server. At this point, users will be able to view all previous historical session records in Outlook.

Note: different versions of Lync/SFB client user folder directory can refer to the following path:

The Lync2010 client user folder directory can refer to the following path:% Userprofile%\ AppData\ Local\ Microsoft\ Communicator\ sip_XXXXXLync2013 client user folder directory can refer to the following path:% Userprofile%\ AppData\ Local\ Microsoft\ Office\ 15.0\ Lync\ sip_XXXXXSkype for Business 2016 client user folder directory can refer to the following path:% Userprofile%\ AppData\ Local\ Microsoft\ Office\ 16.0\ Lync\ sip_XXXXX
