I suggest opening this file in notepad++ because it's a large file and notepad is likely to hang (at least it's 6GB to me! ).

The easiest way to find out whether you are using UEFI or BIOS is to find the / sys/firmware/efi folder. If you are using BIOS, the folder does not exist.

Find if system uses UEFI or BIOS on Ubuntu Linux

Another way: install a package called efibootmgr.

In Debian-and Ubuntu-based distributions, you can install the efibootmgr package using the following command:

Sudo apt install efibootmgr

When you are finished, enter the following command:

Sudo efibootmgr

If your system supports UEFI, it will output different variables. If not, you will see a message indicating that the EFI variable is not supported.
