Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
This article will explain in detail what has been updated and fixed in Windows 10. The editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it with you as a reference. I hope you can get something after reading this article.
With the February Windows 10 update, Microsoft broke two features, some users' Intel webcams and file history backup tools. Although Microsoft acknowledged the problem with the webcam in its feedback center post, the company never admitted that there was a problem with the built-in backup function in Windows 10.
For those who are not familiar with it, file history is a backup solution for Windows 10 that can save specific files or folders to a backup device. File history is an automatic backup tool, also known as a "set-up and forgotten backup scheme", which requires you to have an external drive connected to your computer. By default, file history is designed to automatically save files and folders to connected devices, and users can restore previous versions of files at any time.
After users applied it in February, they found that the file history had quietly stopped working, the backup size was displayed as "zero bytes", and some people saw the vague error message "your data has not been backed up yet." In addition, the user observed that the backup now button no longer works, and even if it is started manually, the system files are never backed up. In some cases, the following error message appears when this feature crashes: "We were unable to copy files to your file history drive; failed to start user data backup (error 80070005)."
In the follow-up, users told us that although Microsoft did not admit that it had a problem, Microsoft may have fixed the problem. The file history seems to have been fixed with the April 2021 update of Windows 10, which means that the backup tool is now working again in Build 19041.928, 19042.928, or later. While the backup tool problem has been resolved for most users, it is not clear when the tech giant will deploy Windows 10 to fix some camera compatibility issues.
According to Feedback Hub's post, Microsoft is aware of the problems with Intel's RealSense Depth and RAZER Stargazer cameras and is in the process of fixing them. If you have a problem with the webcam, you can try the latest optional cumulative update, or uninstall the Windows 10 update. It is possible that Microsoft is still working on the camera issue, and we will hear some official news soon. In addition to these issues, Microsoft is believed to be making appropriate fixes to the performance issues observed in the April 2021 patch.
