Win system makes USB disk installation hard disk image

Use ultraiso_v9.5.3.2901 to write Centos.iso to a USB drive.

1. The whole process of installation is case-sensitive.

2. Too low ultraiso can not read the file correctly.

3. All the materials in this article can be downloaded free of charge on the Internet.

4. After opening ultraiso

1) File > Open, select Centos.iso. And change the name of the opened CD to Centos.iso. I generally choose the English directory to save the CD image, the file name had better not have a space, some motherboard start to identify the space file name error

2) Boot > write hard disk image. And modify the following items

3) hard disk drive: select the USB disk to be written to.

4) write mode USB-HDD+V2

5) easy boot > write new drive boot sector > syslinux (this step seems unnecessary)

6) write. This operation will erase all the data on the U disk, please make a backup in advance. If you cannot successfully try to format the FAT32 format, try again.

After the writing is complete, modify the isolinux.cfg and syslinux.cfg under the isolinux folder.

I deleted all the\ x2018\ x20x86_64 strings in both files.

The result is similar to

Append initrd=initrd.img inst.stage2=hd:LABEL=Fedora xdriver=vesa nomodeset quiet

Append initrd=initrd.img inst.stage2=hd:LABEL=Fedora rescue quiet

Save.

Insert this flash drive into the new computer and enter the boot menu (the boot main in the boot screen, which is usually one of the F2Magi F12 F11 depending on the machine) to boot from USB. After startup, a menu appears, one of which is to install Fedora. Try to install.

If the installation fails, a prompt similar to the following pops up:

Dracut-initqueue [197]: Warning: Could not boot

Dracut-initqueue [197]: Warning: / dev/root does not exist

Entering emergency mode exit the shell to continue. Type "journalctl" to view system logs.

Enter the following two lines of commands at the prompt

Cd dev

Ls

Find sdb and sdb#, in the columns of characters that appear, where # represents a number and sdb# represents the drive letter assigned by the system to the flash drive you are using.

Type reboot to restart the system, then select USB to start, press tab (tab bit, first column on the left side of the standard keyboard, second line above) in the installation menu that appears, and a list of characters will appear below. Modify the character to replace the contents of hd: up to the spaces (excluding spaces) with hd:/dev/sdb#. Press enter (enter) or ctrl-x to enter the startup interface.

Make the installation image of USB disk under Linux

(1) connect the USB flash drive (with a capacity of 8G) to the computer and use the

Fdisk-l

Command to check the device number of the flash drive. It is important to note that the device number (e.g./dev/sdb) of the USB disk will be used instead of the partition (e.g./dev/sdb1). In addition, making a USB boot disk will format the U disk, which should be backed up before use.

(2) under root permission, go to the directory where the CentOS7 image file is located, and use the following command to create a USB boot disk.

Ddbs=4M if=CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64-DVD.iso of=/dev/sdb

The bs parameter is optional, which only affects the speed of making the boot disk. The if parameter specifies the output file. The of parameter specifies the input device, and the value is the USB device number confirmed in the previous step. Before executing this command, make sure that the USB flash drive is in the unmount state. Depending on the level of computer hardware, this process may take 10 minutes or more.

In addition, it should be noted that after becoming a boot disk, the capacity of the U disk will be much smaller, and formatting will not restore it. This is because the boot disk cannot be released by formatting. When the installation completes and determines that the USB boot disk is no longer in use, you can use the diskpart tool to restore the capacity from the command line mode of the win7 environment.

(3) keep the USB boot disk connected, restart the computer, enter the motherboard settings interface, set the BOOT startup priority to the highest mobile device, save and restart the computer, and then enter the following CentOS7 installation interface normally. Select Install CentOS 7 and proceed to the next step.
