Single node mode:

There is no automatic fault tolerance and recovery function. The server went down unexpectedly and redis was unable to provide service. The server disk is damaged and data is lost.

It is used for applications that can penetrate business scenarios, such as DB storage at the backend and little impact when offline.

Master-slave mode:

Do not have automatic fault tolerance and automatic recovery function, need to restore data manually. The primary server went down unexpectedly and redis was unable to provide services. The disk of the master server is damaged, and the data from the slave server can be recovered after the master server manually recovers the normal service. Read and write can be separated. Cannot be scaled out.

Sentinel mode:

Automatic fault tolerance. When the sentry finds that the master server is down, it will enable a slave server as the master server. Read and write can be separated. Cannot be scaled out.

Used for high availability demand scenarios, can be used for high availability Cache, storage and other scenarios. Memory / QPS is limited to a single machine. (query rate per second, QPS = concurrency / average response time)

Cluster mode:

There is no single point of failure and can be scaled out.

It is used for high availability demand scenarios, and can be used for scenarios such as large data volume and high availability Cache/ storage. Memory / QPS is not limited to stand-alone and can benefit from the high scalability of distributed clusters.
