In Oracle database systems, there are several possibilities for no space left on device.

Today the customer site encountered a problem, a brief description to everyone, 11g rac ,linux operating system, node 1 database running normally, borrow point 2 crsctl start crs start error.

First of all, we want to view logs, view cluster-related logs, the key here is that everyone should be able to view logs, Oracle logs. Then discover key issues in the logs. no space left on device, see here first thought is not disk which directory full, use df -h to see no directory utilization rate more than 80%, is the database archive full, check it is no problem. In fact, here we ignore a knowledge point is inode, a very important concept in Linux is inode.

Think of it here and use the command df -i to find that the usage rate is indeed 100%.

df -h

Summary:

No space left on the device.

1. System directory slow, df -h , clean logs and junk files.

2. Inode is used up, df -i usage reaches 100%, clean up small files.

3. ASM archives full, use rman clean up, if there is ADG to pay attention to, do not force to ha.
