Acer seized on Black Friday to launch one of the best deals for PC gaming laptops to date: its 2017 Predator Triton 700s were sold for $2000 and eventually for $999.99. (Macro cer didn't disclose the exact sales date, but we hope it will happen sometime on November 27th, so you just need to pay attention to the product page.) It's not the latest machine, so you won't find NVIDIA RTX graphics chips or 9th-generation Intel processors in it, but it still has powerful features.

The laptop has a 15.6in 1080p display, 120Hz refresh rate and G-Sync support, which is rare in game laptops, especially this affordable laptop. A higher refresh rate will help you see the game running at 120 frames per second, rather than being locked at 60 fps, as most game laptops do. G-Sync support should also eliminate screen tearing, which is common at high frame rates when V-Sync is turned off.

There are a lot of computers for a thousand dollars.

The 120Hz may have enough power to actually drive some games: a built-in NVIDIA GTX 1080 Max-Q graphics chip, a seventh-generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor with a basic clock speed of 2.8Hz and normal memory of 32GB. That was NVIDIA's previous generation of high-end GPU, but even today, GTX 1080 is still trading with the updated RTX 2060 and may run some better games.

For only 999.99 dollars, you will have a lot of computers. However, if you take this into account, there are some drawbacks compared to some of the best Black Friday trading lists on our laptops. The Predator Triton 700's display is surrounded by a thick frame, and the keyboard is located in the front of the chassis, so the glass touchpad is close to the hinge of the screen. Needless to say, this is not the most comfortable arrangement.

However, if you value performance more than the usefulness of the laptop you actually want to enter and browse, you should check before the transaction closes.
