Server scheduled service backup process through SyncToy

Source server and backup server version: windows server 2008 R2

Use tools: SyncToy,Task Scheduler

Purpose: to synchronize the zyx1 folder of the C disk of the source server to the zyx folder of the C disk of the backup server.

The steps are as follows:

1. Install the environment in VMware

Install two windows server 2008 R2 systems in VMware, one as the source server with ip as 192.168.118.136 and the other as the backup server with ip as 192.168.118.135.

2. Configure the source server

Create a new zyx1 folder under the source server C disk.

3. Install SyncToy in the backup server

4. Configure the mapped network drive in the backup server

After entering my computer in the backup server, click "Map Network Server" configuration. Note: the drive can be selected at will as long as it is not repeated. Fill in the folder rules:\\ source server ip\\ destination disk (C disk, D disk, etc.) $(fixed symbol)

Disk C, which maps the source server to the backup server, appears at the network location after the installation is complete.

5. Debug SyncToy in the backup server.

Note: the source server on the left and the backup server on the right.

Synchronize: the first is the most important two-way synchronization function, which adjusts the files at both ends to the latest state according to the addition, deletion, modification and renaming of the files in the left and right endpoints.

Echo: this is a limited one-way synchronization feature that synchronizes the state on the right according to the latest state on the left.

Contribute: this is a more secure one-way synchronization, basically the same as Echo, from left to right, but no deletion is performed.

6. Configure Task Scheduler to perform backup function for SyncToy on a regular basis.

The following interface appears after right-clicking "my computer-Administration-Task Scheduler":

Click create Task to configure the task scheduler.

Go to the trigger bar and create a new trigger.

Note: you can choose the appropriate trigger mode according to your requirements. Here, take the "login time" mode as an example. Go to the "actions" bar, create a new operation, and define the operation process.

Note: the program or script column should select the application that needs to be executed repeatedly, should find the SyncToyCmd.exe under the SyncToy directory, and the parameter is the fixed parameter-R.

When you are finished, you can see a timed execution bar named test on the main page.

7. Verify the experimental results.

Create a new file zyx,5 under the zyx1 folder of disk C on the source server, and the same folder zyx appears in the zyx folder of disk C of the backup server minutes later.
