In this issue, the editor will bring you a sample analysis of Google Fusion Tables applications. The article is rich in content and analyzed and described from a professional point of view. I hope you can get something after reading this article.

Google Labs has now launched a new service for visual data: Google Fusion Tables (data Fusion Table). Unlike Google Spreadsheets spreadsheets), this service is optimized for the big data collection, so users can import forms as large as 100MB.

Google Fusion Tables's FAQ explains: "like other database systems, Fusion Tables's goal is to manage more data than spreadsheets. The difference in the amount of data leads to the difference in function between the two. For example, Fusion Tables focuses on batch operations (classification, filtering, aggregation, merging) of data. These operations are not required for small volume data stored in a spreadsheet. In contrast, spreadsheets retain perfect flexibility in managing data, such as you can store any value in any cell and carefully format the spreadsheet to make it look neat. "

Users can import spreadsheets from their computer, select or open an existing file from Google Spreadsheets, and import it into Google Fusion Tables.

As an example, a document called "opular Baby Names-1880 to 2008" has 129,000 rows of data, but Fusion Tables only displays 100 rows at a time. With such a large amount of data here, users can sort and filter, select aggregations, or create views from certain columns.

There are many options for visualizing data now: display it on a map or intensity chart, use a line, bar, pie, or scatter chart, a motion table, or display it on a timeline. For example, users can check the popularity of the name "John" in the United States, and the results show that the usage of the name has declined slowly since 1924.

Find out which male name has been in the United States since 1990, add two filters: year > = 1990 and year > = 1990, and then aggregate the time by male name. The bar chart below shows that Michael is a male name.

Currently, the service looks crude and does not support other computing options, such as SQL or GQL queries, limited sorting options, and users cannot use forms to add data.

Although it is still a pre-alpha beta, Fusion Tables has built-in co-work: users can ask others to be viewers, contributors (allow contributors to add columns, but cannot edit existing columns), co-creators, or holders. Anyone invited can add comments to a unit or column.

The above is the example analysis of the Google Fusion Tables application shared by the editor. If you happen to have similar doubts, you might as well refer to the above analysis to understand. If you want to know more about it, you are welcome to follow the industry information channel.
