Through a configuration in which the two systems are connected to each other and trust each other, so that:

(1) the SAP Cloud platform sub-account will receive a destination that holds the data needed to connect to the S/4HANA cloud system and communicate with OAuth.

(2) this enables its Web IDE to request data from the S/4HANA system during custom UI development and eventually deploy the UI to the S/4HANA cloud system. Both processes are called inbound requests for S/4HANA cloud systems.

Log in to the S/4HANA Cloud system using a user with a business role assigned to business catalog Communication Management (ID: SAP_CORE_BC_COM):

Create a new Communication arrangement

Scenario Select SAP_COM_0013

Enter the created Communication Arrangement and click OAuth 2.0 Details in the inbound Communication area:

The value of this pop-up window will be maintained later in the Destination creation page of the SAP cloud platform:

Create a new Destination in the SAP cloud platform:

And copy the previous credential information from the S/4HANA cloud system Communication Arrangement OAuth 2.0 detail page.

Add the following four additional attributes:

Name this Destination SCP_DEV_SYSTEM.

Then use the SAP UI5 application creation wizard in the WebIDE of the SAP cloud platform, and in the Data Connection step, you can see the Destination from the drop-down menu. However, the OData service YY1_BONUSPLAN_ in the S/4HANA system pointed to by Destination cannot be used yet, reporting the error message Service XXX is unavailable. It needs to be exposed to an external system in the S/4HANA system before it can be used. However, the connection between S/4HANA and SAP Cloud Platform through Destination has been configured.
