3. Enable VCS

Pycharm default versioning is not available, but the command can be found in the VCS menu:

At this time, Pycharm will browse external resources based on local history, and you can even enable the version control system from this menu. However, version control is only for the project root directory. For more specific configuration, please see the following section.

4. Enable version control

Click the control button on the main toolbar and click Version Control. By default, there is only the root directory.

First, click the green plus sign, in the Add VCS Directory Mapping dialog box, click the ellipsis button, select the corresponding directory, and specify the version control system in the following menu (use Git here).

Of course, you can specify a corresponding version control system for each directory.

Then, click apply to close the dialog box

5. Influence on the appearance of Pycharm

(1) the color of the Solver.py file has changed, which means that version control has not been added.

(2) the Changes tool window window appears, similar to a button at the lower edge of the Pycharm. Click it to open a window to view files that have not been versioned.

(3) more commands appear on the VCS menu, and allow you to view changes to the project and update the entire project, corresponding to and buttons. Response commands are also added to the main toolbar.

(4) Git node appears in VCS menu and project shortcut menu (depending on the version control selected), which contains specific VCS commands.

6. Add version control to a file

Files that are not versioned in the Changes tool window window are displayed as follows:

Select Solver.py, press Ctrl+Alt+A to add the corresponding version control, the file color changes to green, added successfully, but has not yet been hosted. Move the file to the Default change table and press Ctrl+K (or) to host:

To verify that is correct, click the Commit button:

When you're done, the Solver.py file name turns black again, meaning there are currently no unupdated changes.

7. Files in the .idea directory

Click the button in the Changes tool window window and find that the files in the idea directory under the project root directory are not versioned, and these files are not visible in the project window.

This part of the file saves the configuration information of the project, and we need to replace it, except for the version control file.

8. Ignore files

Open the Ignored Files page page of the settings dialog box (set up → Version Control → Ignored Files) and view the list of files ignored by default:

9. Changes in the editor

Edit the code, and the left slot marks all changes:
