Check whether it is in archive mode SQL > archive log list

Modify the oracle log mode:

1. Close the database: shutdown immediate

2. Start the database instance to mount status: startup mount

3. Switch the database log mode:

Alter database archivelog; (sets the database to archive log mode)

Alter database noarchivelog; (sets the database to non-archive log mode)

4. Open the database: alter database open

5. Verify that the database is in archive mode: archive log list
