Network devices are multi-port and multi-monitoring projects, which can be tiring if they are added one by one. When I started to play zabbix, it was also added port by port, and it took me a long time to add a switch. Suddenly wonder if there is a method of automatic monitoring exchange. I searched through Baidu and found a lot of articles. According to the review of relevant articles, I finally realized this method of automatic monitoring network equipment.

Implementation process: create a Templates- definition Discovery- to create an item,Graphs in Discovery-

1. First, create a template as follows: Configuration-templates-Create template

2. Simply configure, fill in the name of the template and the group to which it belongs, and then click: ADD

3.Templates main interface, select the newly created template, click: Discovery

4. Go to the Discovery interface and select: Create discovery rule

5. Enter the Create discovery rule interface, as shown below

Fill in the form as follows:

Name # Discovery name is: Network interface

Type # choose the mode of agent to use agent:SNMPv2 agent

Key # fill in the required key value, because it is automatically discovered, fill in the Key:ifDescr

SNMPOID # enter the OID value required by SNMP, and fill in SNMPOID:ifdescr

The name of the SNMP community # SNMP community, most of which are custom names. Here I use the default public

The completion is as follows:

All right, now we need to create item, English: Item prototypes Chinese translation: original project

PS: when I read the material, I didn't look at it in detail. I didn't create an Item prototypes under discovery rule. The configuration failed that time, and then I compared it to find the problem. Here is a reminder that the creation of item is created in Item prototypes.

6. Click to open: Item prototypes

7, enter the Item prototypes interface, and then select: Create item prototype

8. Enter the item prototype interface

For traffic IN and OUT, please refer to the option of configuring out traffic for IN traffic.

9. Create a Graph prototype monitoring traffic graph, and click: Graph prototype

10, click: Create graph prototype

11, enter the Create graph prototype interface

Required configuration items:

Name: Traffic on interface {# SNMPVALUE}

Items

For these two projects, the configuration process is as follows

To the Items location, click: add prototype to add items prototype

Check and click: SELECT

Complete the configuration as shown below, and then click: add

The above is the completion of the automatic sending template configuration, now add the host and associate the corresponding template

Add host: Configuration-Hosts-Create host

After filling in the basic information, select click: Templates

Click again: Select to enter the template selection interface

Check the template we just created and click: Select or double-click to return to the template

In the Link new templates location, you can already see the name of the template we selected. Be sure to click: add to add it.

Finally, click: add to return to the host interface

Wait a while to find that the original Item project 0, there are already many projects

Then check the network traffic map.
