Manage VMFS Stora

There are mainly the following aspects:

1. Rename storage

2. Create VMFS storage for ESXI hosts

3. Increase data storage capacity

4. Uninstall VMFS storage

5. Delete VMFS storage

6. Create a second shared storage with iscsi.

The process is as follows:

1. Rename storage

1. Log in to vSphere Web Client and select "Storage" in the left column.

2. Select the storage to be renamed in the Datacenter directory, right-click "rename", and enter the name you want to change.

Create VMFS storage for ESXI hosts

1. On vSphere Web Client, select "hosts and clusters"

2. Right-click Datacenter and select "Storage" > "New data Store"

3. Select "next" to enter "New data Store".

4. Select "next" to enter "New data Store"

5. In "name and device selection", enter the data store name and select lun.

6. Select "VMFS 6" in the VMFS version

7. Select "next", and in "Partition configuration", give 50GB

8. Preview the configuration and click "finish".

9. Operate 192.168.105.32 in the same way

10. In Datacenter, you can preview to Share Datacenter 30

Third, increase the data storage capacity

Two methods of operation:

The first method:

1. In the "Storage" option, expand "Datacenter", and in "data Storage", select "increase data storage capacity"

2. Select "LUN 0" in "increase data storage capacity".

3. Select "use" available space 47.66GB to expand data storage on the page, and give the size to "30GB".

4. Click finish

The second method:

1. In the "Storage" option, expand "Datacenter"

2. Right-click "Share Datacenter 30" and select "increase data storage capacity"

3. Select "LUN 0" on the page

4. Select "use" available space XXGB to expand data storage on the page, and give the size to 3GB.

5. Next, click "finish".

Uninstall VMFS storage

1. In the "Storage" expansion bar, select "Datacenter"

2. Right-click "Share Datacenter 30" and select "uninstall Storage"

3. Select the hosts from which the storage is uninstalled, and then click "OK"

4. What happens after unloading

5. After unloading, it can also be added, and the data will not be affected.

Delete VMFS storage

1. In the "Storage" expansion bar, select "Datacenter"

2. Right-click "Share Datacenter 30" and select "Delete data Store"

3. On the "confirm deletion of data store" page, select "Yes"

4. Refresh the page and the storage cannot be seen.

Create a second shared storage with iscsi

1. In "hosts and clusters", right-click "Datacenter" and select "Storage" > "New data Store".

2. The latter one can refer to the previous creation and will not be described any more.
