The control file of oracle is corrupted due to abnormal shutdown. The following error is reported when starting the instance:

ORA-00205: error in identifying control file, check alert log for more info

Solution:

In this case, the control file is usually corrupted. Fortunately, our oracle is very powerful. When we create oracle, the system automatically creates two control files, control01.ctl and control02.ctl.

OK, now that control01.ctl is corrupted, control02.ctl can still be used in general. Next, rename or delete control01.ctl, change control02.ctl to control01.ctl, and modify the initialization parameter file spfile as shown below:

Note that the contents in the quotation marks above are filled in according to the actual situation.

After completing the above operation, execute shutdown immediate to shut down the database instance. Then execute startup to open the database instance. At this point, you will find that the oracle database instance has been miraculously revived.

Remember to back up oracle database control files in your daily work, preferably multiplexing.

The so-called multiplexer saves the control file on several different disks. Remember that the instance must be closed before copying the control file, otherwise the above error will be reported again.
