Registration of Part03-NSX series from NSX Manager to vCenter Server

After you have completed the initial deployment of NSX Manager, it is time to register it with vCenter Server, because nothing can be done if you do not register with vCenter

1. Use the Chrome browser to enter https://10.10.10.120 to the interface in figure 01, enter the user name admin and the password set during deployment in Part02, and then click Login to log in:

2. After successfully logging in, you can see the interface shown in figure 02:

3. Click the View Summary button in figure 02 to go to the interface shown below to view the status of NSX Manager-related services, such as vPostgres, RabbitMQ, NSX ManagementService, SSH and other services. Wait until all these services are in Running status before considering doing other things, such as the Running status shown in the red box in figure 03:

4. Note that again, because you need to visit vCenter LookupService to register NSX Manager to vCenter Server, be sure to make sure that DNS, NTP, SSO and other messages are normal. After confirming these messages Ok, click the Manage NSXManage Service Edit Lookup Service shown in figure 03:

5. Click the Edit button, and the window shown in figure 05 will pop up. In this window, you need to enter information about vCenter Server, including Lookup Service IP, Lookup Service Port, SSO Administrator User Name and Password:

Note that when you click Ok, a prompt about fingerprint verification will pop up. Just click Ok.

6. Then go back to the vCenter Server option shown in figure 04, click Edit, and set vCenter Server, including vCenter Server address message, vCenter User Name, and Password. The reason for adding this option is to take into account the possibility of separation of SSO and vCenter. As shown in figure 06, enter the corresponding message:

As in step 5, the system will also pop up a prompt for fingerprint verification, just click Ok

7. After successfully entering the relevant information of Lookup Service and vCenter Server, you can see the normal green Connected of both in the NSX Management Service of NSX Manager as shown in figure 07:

8. Then, after vSphere Web Client logs in to vCenter, you can see the Networking & Security option shown in figure 08 on the Home page of vCenter Server:

9. Click the Network & Security option to open the NSX Manager window with tabs such as Installation Management, as shown in figure 09:

At this point, NSX Manager has successfully registered with vCenter Server, and the next thing to do is to deploy NSX Controller with the support of NSX Manager

Note: you also need to adjust the Time Zone of NSX Manager. The default Time Zone is UTC. Click on figure 10 to modify it and change it to Asia/Shanghai:
