Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--

ZorinOS15.2, released on March 8th, has made impressive upgrades and improvements to the Linux operating system, which has been running well.

Since his debut in July 2009, ZorinOS co-founder Artyom Zorin has called his release an ideal replacement for Microsoft Windows. This description is a powerful selling point for this easier-to-use computing platform, but anyone looking for the perfect alternative to Windows will be disappointed.

Of course, no Linux distribution can be a Microsoft clone, nor should it be. For new users of Linux desktops, apart from being gorgeous and biased towards Windows, they won't feel too much like Windows7 or Windows 10.

However, the Zorin operating system should certainly be on the waiting list for Microsoft's Windows system. The distributions on this list, including UbuntuMATE, Linux Mint Cinnamon, the main operating system, Solus and Mint, demonstrate the diversity of Linux desktops and are a better computing choice than Windows.

Although ZorinOS is a reliable choice and provides a solid computing platform, this stand-alone Ubuntu-based Linux distribution may not have enough advanced features to meet the computing needs of established Linux users.

Ghost will find that the Zorin operating system is a good step forward and will not challenge its technical insight. However, the operating system of Zorin is not completely different.

There are many Ubuntu-based Linux distributions now, but ZorinOS is different from many other distributions. Zorin developers have designed a valuable operating system that is full of improvements that make its use very different from Ubuntu reading Distribution and better than Ubuntu reading Distribution.

For example, Zorin released a version for grammar schools and provided a new platform called Zorin Grid for large groups. It includes cloud power features that make it easy to set up, manage, monitor, and protect Zorin operating system computers.

There is a commercial version of Zorin OS--Zorin OS 15.2Premium, which sells for $38. The Zorin OS15.2 kernel and the Zorin OS15.2 website are available for free download. Running the core version of the modified GNOME desktop is suitable for most users. The compact version uses lightweight XFCE desktops with fewer pre-installed applications.

Since the launch of ZorinOS15 nine months ago, Zorin has been downloaded more than 900,000 times. According to developers, two out of every three downloads are downloaded to computers running Windows and Mac operating systems.

The Zorin operating system is fulfilling its mission to bring the power of Linux to new users.

The Zorin operating system is usually updated twice a year. Otherwise, small updates will be released every few months as needed. However, after the release of version 12 at the end of 2016, it waited until its next major upgrade appeared as a ZorinOS15 beta version in March last year.

The second release of the Zorin 15 series makes this release a performance competitor. Using the core version, using the GNOME desktop is more satisfying than refurbishing the standard tablet vanilla GNOME.

The Zorin OS kernel uses a well-integrated and tuned user interface, which makes the GNOME3 interface more efficient. The core is what developers call the Zorin desktop. Don't be fooled into thinking this is a new proposal.

It's really just a prettier face applied to the GNOME shell. However, this improved GNOME integration goes far beyond the standard GNOME desktop design. The Zorin desktop integrates the look and feel of Windows7, making GNOME familiar and comfortable to use.

One of the main attractions of Zorin OS GNOME design is the menu layout. It looks very similar to Windows7 and provides a comfortable area for new users.

Unlike standard GNOME, you can get a two-column list of application categories and content. What you don't get is a full page display listing each installed application in alphabetical order, which is the standard for GNOME3.

Zorin OS15.2 updates the accompanying Linux kernel to 5. 3. This provides extended hardware support for Intel's tenth generation of CPU and AMD NaviRX5700 series and supports newer MacBook and MacBookPro keyboards and touchpads.

The focus of this upgrade is to improve the foundation of ZorinOS, which gives users more than just a new layer of paint. It improves core technologies and software stacks and provides a faster, more secure, and more powerful computing experience.

If you install ZorinOS115.2 on the relevant new computer (or upgrade directly from 15.1), you may not notice many improvements in speed and functionality. However, if you have an aging box and install Lite version and XFCE, you will be very happy.

Update and refresh the classification of pre-installed software. This is an area that cannot be ignored.

The upgrade includes switching to the Ubuntu18.04.4LTS base. It involves improvements in many built-in system technologies, including better security, compatibility, and performance factors. The security enhancements gained by running only the latest Linux kernel are worth upgrading.

The minimum system requirements are 64-bit (1 gigahertz) processors, 2gb ram, and 10GB free disk space.

One of the reasons why many users think that ZorinOS is not a window substitute is its appearance. The Zorin operating system is a good style with a fresh and charming appearance.

P for example, the menu bar and basic desktop view provide an experience similar to viewing the Windows screen. The menu displays a simple layout.

. You can place the launcher icon on your desktop or favorites display.

ZorinOSCore is easier to navigate between open windows and virtual desktops than standard GNOME desktops. Although the design does not have a workspace toggle application in the bottom bar or an overview button in the bottom bar, it does have an active button in the menu panel.

You can also press the Windows button on the keyboard. Either way, the GNOME virtual panel display slides out of the right edge of the screen to provide switching capabilities and desktop overview.

However, the desktop does not have an overview or active button in the upper left corner as a convenient option. For simplicity, ZorinOS also lacks other amenities. In this respect, even standard GNOME3 is lacking. Zorin operating system desktops do not have widgets or Mini Program functions. Most animations don't exist.

Zorin OS15.2 is a simple and feasible computing platform. I prefer to have an option in exchange for the core version of the XFCE desktop where ZorinOS'GNOME integration is more flexible.

If ZorinOS sounds promising for you, in addition to the GNOME experience, consider trying the Lite version. Although XFCE is lightweight in design, it provides a more traditional desktop layout experience.

The Zorin operating system has some fine features hidden in the setting options. I would like to see some including the help screen and other new user documentation built into the Zorin operating system. When you first see the Zorin desktop, it will be easier for users who are not familiar with Linux or other barren landscapes to start using it.
