This article mainly shows you "Vcenter how to solve the problem that you can not log in using an authorized domain account". The content is simple and clear. I hope it can help you solve your doubts. Let me lead you to study and learn this article "Vcenter how to solve the problem that you can not log in using an authorized domain account".
I. description of the problem
In Vmware vcenter, add administrator rights to the domain account vmadmin and propagate the permissions to child objects. An attempt to log on to vCenter Server using vSphere Client or vSphere Web Client failed with the prompt "login cannot be completed due to incorrect username or password".
Trying to use the vSphere Client installed by the Vcenter server server and selecting the use Windows session credentials check box to log on to vCenter Server failed, with the same prompt "login cannot be completed due to incorrect username or password".
Second, cause analysis
When you install SSO on a Windows computer that is joined to a domain, an identity source is created for both the local computer user and the domain. After authenticating a domain user, SSO attempts to retrieve the user's local group. If SSO cannot retrieve these groups, the login fails even if the user's credentials are valid.
The Active Directory identity source must be added to the Single Sign On (SSO) configuration using the domain NETBIOS as the domain alias. If you do not configure a domain alias with a domain shortname, authentication using session credentials will fail.
3. Problem handling:
Solution 1:
Log in with the full domain name, such as vmadmin@vsphere.local
(2) solution 2:
Log in through vSphere Web Client and try to re-add the vCenter Single Sign On Active Directory identity source.
Log in to vSphere Web Client; using administrator@vsphere.local credentials under "Single sign-on", click configure.
Find the identity source in the configuration and click add
Select "Active Directory (integrated Windows authentication)" in "identify source type"
Click the test connection to make sure the test connection passes.
Just log in again.
Note: in the integrated domain authentication and the backend vc is vcenter server appliance (suse 11), do not easily change the administrator password, unknown reasons can easily lead to accidents.
Sometimes, when the above changes do not take effect, restart PSC, wait 3-5 minutes after PSC is normal, restart vcenter server appliance (suse 11), and then log in to VC with a domain account.
