On the ECS console, you can attach an elastic Nic (ENI) when creating an ECS instance. For more information on how to create an instance, please see step 2: create an ECS instance. This article mainly introduces the matters needing attention when adding an elastic Nic when creating an ECS instance.

You need to pay attention to the following configurations when you attach an elastic Nic when creating an ECS instance:

Basic configuration:

Region: elastic Nic is supported in all regions.

Example: select an instance specification that supports an elastic Nic, and it must be an Icano optimized instance. For more information, see instance specification families.

Mirroring: only the following mirrors can automatically identify the ENI without configuration.

If it is another image, you need to configure the ENI so that it can be identified after creating the instance.

Network and Security groups:

Network type: must be a proprietary network, and select the private network and switch that you have created.

Elastic network card: click to add a new elastic network card, and then select the switch to which the elastic network card belongs.

Description

When creating an instance on the console, you can only attach a maximum of 2 elastic NICs, one primary Nic and the other secondary Nic. You can attach more secondary network cards in any of the following ways:

Create an ENI on the ECS console and attach the ENI to the instance.
