Google albums convert Samsung's dynamic photos into still images

Google Photos is one of the most popular and widely used cloud photo services. Although it is functional. Sometimes it may lack a few wishlist features, and sometimes it handles many bugs and issues with each release update. Now it seems to affect its compatibility with Samsung One UI with sound dynamic photos, because some users noticed that when you upload or backup in Google Photos, it will become simple static photos.

Samsung's One UI version has been released over the past few months. Part of this update is support for dynamic photos and sounds. Android police said that when they first tested Google Photos on the Galaxy S20 Ultra running on One UI 2.5, there seemed to be no problem uploading dynamic photos to the cloud photo service. The process takes some time, but all of its dynamic photo capabilities are supported.

But now it seems that support has evaporated. If you upload a motion photo to Google Photos, the motion photo will appear as a still image with audio and video. This is certainly a problem for those who back up such photos because they want to upload the photos in their original format to the app. This seems to be a mistake by Google and hopefully will be resolved soon.

Google Photos actually only started supporting motion photos last year, although the format has been around for a while. So this may just be a bug in their latest update, but it doesn't actually remove support for such photos. While this is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to back up photos, it's far from perfect because some mistakes (like random videos of other users being added to random user libraries) will affect this user earlier.

Google Photos hasn't heard about this yet, but I hope they're already working on it. Also, if you are a Samsung user with moving pictures, please don't delete the original file until Google can fix the problem.
