The standard version of windows server 2012 is exactly the same as the data center version. The only difference is the number of virtual machines supported by embedded Hyper-v. The standard version supports 2 virtual machines by default, while the data center version has no limit. Therefore, you can upgrade directly. The upgrade method is as follows:

(1) use the winver command to view the current version, as shown in figure 1.

(2) enter the command prompt window, execute dism / online / get-targeteditions, check the version that the current system can upgrade, and show that you can upgrade to datacenter, as shown in figure 2. For windows2008 and Windows Server 2012, you can upgrade through this dism command.

(3) execute the following command to upgrade:

Dism / online / set-edition:ServerDatacenter/productkey:48HP8-DN98B-MYWDG-T2D

CC-8W83P / AcceptEula

The serial number is randomly found on the Internet. If the enterprise upgrades normally, please use the serial number purchased by yourself.

If an error is found, the error code is: 0x800f0902

You need to confirm that the "status" columns of Background Intelligent Transfer Service service, Cryptographic service, SoftwareProtection service and Windows Update service are all "started" in the list of services, and manually set them to "started" if they are not started.

After the above operation, execute the upgrade command again and find that it can be executed successfully.

After executing the command, restart the computer.

(4) enter the system again and execute winver to see that it is currently in the data center version, as shown in figure 4.
